THE SHOPS BUCKHEAD ATLANTA BRINGS ART TO LIFE WITH FOURTH ANNUAL “BUCKHEAD LOVES LOCALS” PROGRAM

·      In collaboration with SCAD Art Sales, artists will create one-of-a-kind installations

·      Art will be unveiled at “Spring Into The Shops” on Saturday, April 13

During the fourth annual “Buckhead Loves Locals,” The Shops Buckhead Atlanta will collaborate with SCAD Art Sales, a full-service art consultancy from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and two local artists to bring unique murals and displays to the outdoor lifestyle center. On Wednesday, March 20, the four artists began painting and creating artworks live as part of the program, giving customers an immersive opportunity to experience the artistic process.

“We’re excited to showcase the innovative work of SCAD Art Sales artists and local artists during the much-anticipated Buckhead Loves Locals program,” said Nazy Gavahi, marketing manager of The Shops Buckhead Atlanta. “It’s a special opportunity for customers to view the diverse talents of emerging artists from the Atlanta art scene, and we are proud to continue this unique series of creative works.”

“SCAD Art Sales supports the university’s mission to prepare talented students for professional careers and actively seeks opportunities for fine artists to engage in projects on any scale. We’re so pleased that public art is thriving in the City of Atlanta and that our diverse roster of global SCAD artists can contribute to this initiative,” said Rachel Evans, director of SCAD Art Sales.

The artists’ installations will remain on display throughout the center until the end of the year.

The Shops Buckhead Atlanta will be hosting “Spring Into The Shops,” an official unveiling event for these art pieces and additional installations throughout the property on Saturday, April 13 from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. The public event will feature live music, specialty spring cocktails and light bites, a customized floral stall, kids activities and in-store experiences and art-focused activations. Guests can also enjoy a Spend and Receive promotion: spend $500, receive $50 & spend $1,000, receive $100 in TSBA gift cards, while supplies last.
